Calling All Parents

Parental Pedagogy Week,
Coming the week of May 13-17

We would like to invite YOU to come in to class and teach something unique and personal to the students. 
This can involve career related lessons, cultural tradition lessons, science projects, cooking lessons, art lessons or anything you think the students might enjoy. Hands-on lessons and projects are usually the most interesting, but sharing a special family story can be a wonderful experience too. This is a chance to promote the importance of education, have some fun, expand our curriculum, and show the students that everyone has something special to contribute! We welcome your ideas and can even help with some planning or materials if you need us.

Last Week of School

Important Reminders No backpacks or lunchboxes are allowed for the last day of school. If you child is bringing a lunch on Wednesday, please make it a sack lunch.  Kindergarten-2nd grade Awards Day will be Wednesday, May 22nd at 9:30. Please plan on arriving early for parking.  Last Day Picnic Lunch - After the Awards Ceremony, we will have a class picnic on the back playground. Please let us know if you intend to bring a lunch in for your child that day or have them purchase one from the cafeteria. 5th Grade Walk of Honor - Addison has a last day tradition of honoring the fifth grade graduates with a walk of honor and then giving a big fun send off to the buses.

Weekly Update #1

Dear Kindergator Parents,                                                            Hello. It was wonderful to meet you at Meet & Greet last week, and it has been very exciting to work with your children! We drew a picture of ourselves, read about a “Officer Buckle and Gloria” which lead into a discussion about how rules keep up safe.  We met and read about a “Ginger Bread Man” who got loose in the school.  This led us on a “wild goose chase” to find him and ended up taking us on a tour of all the special places in our school.  We chatted while we ate our snack, had fun during recess (in the gym), and had more fun chatting with our new friends at lunchtime. On Wednesday and Friday, we ended our day in the gym for PE, and on Thursday, we went to Art.  We have been very busy every day!  There are a few things I would like to ask of you, please. 1 .  Please send your child in with one snack each day.
